Thursday

Gift Buying For A Good Cause

If you have had enough of the malls and wish to shop in a more intimate atmosphere, check out Pat's Corner, the gift shop at Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association.

Its annual open house features a selection of Christmas gifts from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Refreshments will be served, and proceeds will benefit children's programming at Center Place.

The gift shop is at 619 Vonderburg Drive in Brandon and is open from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 4:30 to 7:30 Thursday evenings.

Students Perform 'The Pajama Game'

Students at Riverview High School, 11311 Boyette Road, will present the musical comedy classic "The Pajama Game" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from Thursday through Dec. 15.

The plot revolves around a group of union workers at a pajama factory demanding a 7 1/2 -cent raise.

Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. for each performance. The show is directed by Daron Hawkins, and Elizabeth Stewart serves as music director.

Friday

Celebrate Diversity With Holiday Classics
Stages Productions will present "Santa's Holiday Revue," a fast-paced, rollicking musical with singing, dancing, clapping, foot tapping and a celebration of world diversity at Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon, at 11:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.

The performance is recommended for ages 3 and older. Tickets are $5 for Center Place members and $6 for nonmembers. Call Center Place at (813) 685-8888.

Saturday

Holiday Activities Family Style
Regency Square shopping center will host a holiday celebration for the whole family from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. On the festivities menu are yuletide stories and songs for children at 11:30 a.m., a circus at 1 p.m. and a magic show at 2 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus, a singing Jack Frost and a stilt-walking toy soldier, juggling elf, living music box with a soldier and a ballerina will make appearances. Face painting, balloon twisting and more activities for children will keep the party going.

Free Christmas Fest Features Food, Vendors

The Music Showcase at 402 Oakfield Drive, Brandon, invites the community to its free annual Christmas Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Santa will drop by, as will merchant vendors.

Food, games, face painting, a bounce house, race cars, free entertainment and prizes will make for a fun-filled holiday celebration for the family. Call the Music Showcase at (813) 685-5998 for information.

Summerfield Hosts Crafters' Market

The Summerfield Community Center at 13011 Summerfield Blvd., Riverview, will hold a Crafters' Holiday Market Open House from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

About 35 local crafters, artists and home-based businesses will take part and offer homemade crafts, decorative candles, gifts for the home, Red Hat Society collectibles, accessories, jewelry, children's books, gift baskets, holiday wreaths and more. Santa will make an appearance at noon, and children can visit with him until 1:30 p.m.
