The Grace Christian School Patriots varsity soccer team recently won the Florida Christian Conference State Championship by defeating Land O' Lakes Christian 3-0 in front of a crowd of about 400.
The win capped off a remarkable season for Grace Christian, where the team went 18-0-1, marking the third time in four years that the team has finished the season without a loss.
Grace Christian featured a balanced scoring attack all season with five players with 10 or more goals. The team's defense also produced 10 shutouts. Senior John Wesley Honaker, the league's most valuable player, led the defense, which allowed less than 10 shots on goal per game. Senior goal keeper Zack Martin caps off a remarkable career, which concluded with his third state championship.
Grace put eight players on the All-Conference list, the most in school history.
