Published: February 26, 2007

The Spring Jubilee Committee has begun signing up sponsors for the sixth annual Spring Jubilee, which has become one of the largest events in the community and a springtime tradition.

This year's Spring Jubilee is scheduled for April 12-15 at St. Stephen Catholic School, Boyette Road in Riverview, and promises to be a celebration of family fun with something for everybody.

"Visibility to 40,000 fair-goers, newspapers and Web site advertisers and a chance to support local charities are just some of the benefits awaiting sponsors of the sixth annual Spring Jubilee," said chairman Frank Wuco.

The Spring Jubilee Committee is offering sponsorships on several levels: Diamond sponsors of $5,000 in cash or services; Platinum sponsors donating $2,500 in cash or services; Gold sponsors donating $1,000 in cash or services; and Silver sponsors donating $500 in cash or services.

Sponsors will receive newspaper advertising through the media sponsor, The Tampa Tribune/The Brandon News, as well as advertising in the Spring Jubilee program, recognition in on-site programs, banners, announcements and the Spring Jubilee Web site.

Businesses or individuals also can sign on as bronze sponsors, donating $250 in cash or services, and be recognized on the Spring Jubilee Web site, in programs and announcements and have a banner displayed at the jubilee. The Spring Jubilee Web site and its host site receive more than 200,000 hits per month.

As in past years, this year's jubilee will feature rides from Arnold's Amusements of Gibsonton, which is bringing 35 rides. This year's event will also include one surprise thrill ride that's a closely guarded secret, said Wuco.

Also on tap is the traditional Chili Cook-Off with proceeds going to the Don and Erika Wallace Comprehensive Breast Cancer Research Program at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Other Spring Jubilee beneficiaries include All Children's Hospital and the Brandon Outreach Clinic, co-founded by St. Stephen parishioner Dr. Stephen Parks. The clinic, which adjoins the Brandon Emergency Care Help Organization on Parsons Avenue, is a nonprofit community-based organization that provides free medical care to those in need.

In addition, there will be nonstop entertainment all four days including local bands and dance troupes, a fireworks display, a 5K race, bingo inside the school's multipurpose room and an art fair featuring fine art from artists throughout the southeast United States.
