BISHOP TO SPEAK
Nativity Catholic Church will host the Most Rev. Robert N. Lynch, fourth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg, as the featured guest speaker at its annual Lenten Parish Mission March 26-28 at 7p.m. in the parish social hall, 705 E. Brandon Blvd.
"It has been a tradition at Nativity church to have a Lenten mission as a way to spiritually renew our church members," said Vicki Hawkins, director of faith formation. "People who attend a Lenten mission are affirmed that God loves them, and because of this great love, we gratefully serve others. Spiritual renewal comes when we find a way to look outside of ourselves and see where we can be of help to others."
Bishop Lynch is the current chairman of Catholic Relief Services. He has traveled around the world in service to those who have experienced natural and political disasters.
Local residents, Catholics and non-Catholics, are invited to attend the mission to hear Lynch present the Gospel message.
