Soul And A Trapeze

UniverSoul Circus returns to the Florida State Fairgrounds with flying trapeze artists, daredevils on Chinese bicycles, aerial gymnasts and contortionists to entertain an audience of all ages in an outdoor setting.

The show is titled The Magic of Soul and blends urban-rich, family entertainment with a taste of magic and mystique.

Show times are 4 and 7:30 p.m. today; 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday; noon, 4:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday; and 1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ticket prices vary. Admission is free for babies 12 months old and younger. Parking is $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and buses. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds via the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance.

Rotary Fundraiser To Aid Poor Countries

Let loose a few belly laughs while helping the Area IV Rotary clubs host a benefit for Group Project Cure, an international Rotary project that helps channel medical supplies to developing countries, at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonkerz Comedy Club, 779 Lumsden Road, Brandon.

The event is called Laugh Your Spokes Off and will include appetizers, drink specials and top-name comedians.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Thursday, and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.

If you are job hunting or want to re-invent your career, the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce's 2007 Fall Job Fair may be for you.

It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillsborough Community College's Brandon campus, 10414 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa.

Individuals entering the work force or starting a new career are encouraged to attend. The event is sponsored by The Tampa Tribune and the Brandon News & Tribune.

Corks And Forks

Sip fine wines at the Brandon area YMCAs' third annual YMCA Corks and Forks fundraising event.

Wines of California's Napa Valley will be featured at this year's wine tasting from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Palmetto Club, 17004 Dorman Road, Lithia.

SaturdaySnip, Tuck, Paste And Frame

If you like to preserve favorite family memories in keepsake scrapbooks, or you would like to try for the first time, check out the GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club's scrapbooking fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 3315 Bryan Road, Brandon.

The day will be filled with fellowship, door prizes, a silent auction, lunch and snacks.

Registration is $25. Vendors will offer holiday items during a shopping extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Park Tribute To Honor Veterans

The Veterans Council of Hillsborough County, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the county Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Friends of the County Parks board and the Veterans Memorial Museum & Park Committee have joined forces to host a Veterans Day tribute at 11 a.m. Sunday at the park, 3602 U.S. 301, Tampa.

The free event will feature guest speaker retired Army Col. Harold W. Youmans. Suncoast Vietnam Veterans will feature a presentation of The Last Patrol.

Visitors can bring worn American flags for retirement by Boy Scout Troop 110. Call Dave Braun at (813) 310-8513.
