TAMPA - Hillsborough County Animal Services has a series of orientation sessions scheduled for residents who would like to join its volunteer partnership program.
Volunteers must be at least 16, and a parent must accompany minors to orientation.
Duties for volunteers might include escorting adopters to kennel areas, serving as a veterinary service assistants, walking and socializing animals, representing the organization at special events or taking digital photographs.
Orientation sessions are offered at Hillsborough County Animal Services, 440 Falkenburg Road, Tampa, at the following times:
•10 a.m. to noon Saturday
•5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6
•10 a.m. to noon Dec. 15
Animal Services also is seeking volunteers 18 or older to train as Reserve Animal Control Officers. Candidates must commit to a minimum of 20 hours a month, primarily on weekends, to assist field operations. Reserve officers may be involved with animal handling but will not write citations.
