'Book of Days' Seeks Truth

Looking for drama? The theater department at Hillsborough Community College will feature a production of "Book of Days," written by Lanford Wilson.

The play is based on a quest to find truth and honesty amid jealousies, religion, greed and lies in a small Missouri town.

Performances will start at 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Hillsborough Community College's Brandon campus, 10414 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa. This performance contains adult material. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for students.

"De Colores" Dance Performed At HCC
Hillsborough Community College presents "de Colores," a dance concert filled with a variety of music and movement performed by HCC's dance department and choreographed by Christina Acosta on the second floor of the Ybor Campus, 1505 E. Palm Ave., Tampa.

Evening performances will start at 7 and 9 Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There also will be matinees at noon Thursday and Friday. Tickets are $5 for general admission and free for college staff and students with IDs. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Evening of Hope Helps Families In Crisis

The Greater Brandon Community Foundation's annual Evening of Hope fundraiser for families affected by life-threatening diseases or catastrophic events will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Palmetto Club at FishHawk Ranch, 17004 Dorman Road, Lithia.

Dinner will be provided by Outback Steakhouse, followed by entertainment and live and silent auctions. Proceeds will benefit the Foundation Angels Program, which enables individuals and businesses to help families with specific needs.

All Weekend

American Indian Bands Offer Music, Culture

The Seminole tribe of Florida will present a musical festival with performances by American Indian bands at the Florida State Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event also will feature arts and crafts and food. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the U.S. 301 entrance.

See Alice Chase Rabbit In 'Wonderland'

The Junior Showcase Players will host a performance of "Alice in Wonderland" at 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday at the Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Drive, Brandon.

The adventure begins when Alice chases a white rabbit into its burrow. Memorable songs and whimsical escapades highlight her journey. Tickets are $8 per person.
