HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS
'HOWLOWEEN' FUNDRAISER: Dapper Doggie, 881 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon. Dapper Doggie will hold its second annual "Howloween" event from 5:30-8 p.m. Saturday. The entry fee for the canine costume contest is $5. Donated food and drinks will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Kids and Canines, an anti-truancy initiative that pairs at-risk middle school students with golden retrievers. 'THE LEGEND OF FRANKENSTEIN': Center Place, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon. Footlights Theater Productions will feature "The Legend of Frankenstein" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The play is based on the novel by Mary Shelley about the famous monster brought back to life. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for members and seniors age 55 and older. HALLOWEEN ROUND-UP: Brandon Family Moose Lodge, 804 S. Miller Road, Valrico. Halloween Round-Up will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Members will hand out free, wrapped candy in front of the lodge. The event is open to everyone. Call (813) 689-6043.
BRANDON HIGH FUN FEST: Brandon High School, 1101 Victoria St., Brandon. Brandon High School Future Farmers of America alumni will present Brandon Family Fun Fest starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. HALLOWEEN HORRIBLES PARADE: Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon. Center Place will host a Halloween parade at 3 p.m. Sunday. Costumed children up to age 10 accompanied by an adult are invited to participate. There will be treat stations along the parade route sponsored by area civic clubs and businesses. CRACKER COUNTRY HOSTS TWO EVENTS: Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. Cracker Country will host "Haints, Legends and Tall Tales" storytelling from 6-9 p.m. Docents in historic dress will use lanterns to guide small groups as they recount traditional Florida folk tales while the Pleasant Family Old Time String Band performs. Tours start at 6:15 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Each lasts about 45 minutes and is limited to the first 120 people in attendance at start time. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and children ages 6-12. Children age 5 and younger will be admitted free. Parking is free. ALL SAINTS BOO-BASH CELEBRATION: Nativity Catholic Church social hall A & B, 705 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. The Nativity Women's Guild will host a night of family fun from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday. Learn about the patron saints while participating in traditional Halloween activities. Prizes and candy will be awarded. Children will be served a hot dog, chips and beverage for free. Adults may enjoy the same for $1. Visitors are asked to wear a costume and bring a nonperishable food item or diapers to donate to the church's food pantry. Call (813) 681-4608.
HALLOWEEN FUN FOR BABY: Stroller Strides, 459 Brandon Town Center Drive, at the Westfield Brandon mall. Stroller Strides will host its third annual Stroller Spook class at 9 a.m. Tuesday. A free fitness program for moms will be followed by a Halloween party for babies. The baby with the best Halloween costume will win a prize. NOAH'S ARKCADE: First Baptist Church of Brandon, 216 N. Parsons Ave., Brandon. The church will host a fall festival from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. There will be food for all and games for children.
