VALRICO - The Village Players' production of "Noises Off," a three-act farce written by Michael Frayne, packed the historical James McCabe Theater during its recent three-weekend run.
Due to the popularity and hilarity of the show, the Village Players have scheduled two additional performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the theater, 506 Fifth Ave., Valrico.
Cindy Miller-Ray, Vince Natale, Jessica Siegler, Thom Miller, Mollie Anderson, Rick Faurote, Greg Summerall, Oliver Sprague and Kimberlee Sivret will be back with their dizzyingly fast-paced, slapstick antics and sturdy two-story, double-faced set with seven working doors, a window and countless plates of sardines.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door, which opens at 7:30 p.m. for both performances. Proceeds will help fund restoration of the McCabe Theater. The theater, built about 1915, is a nonprofit entity.
For information, call the Village Players office at (813) 689-0044.

Rachel's Guild Makes Quilts For Children
Since September 2006, members of Rachel's Guild of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church have been making quilts for children at Joshua House, a temporary shelter for abandoned, abused and neglected children in the Tampa Bay area.
Before the quilts are given away, they are placed before the church altar, and the church community prays for the children who will receive them.
Because the quilts are given to children, not the facility, many are needed to keep up with the number of children who stay at the shelter before moving to more permanent homes.
Volunteers of all experience levels are needed to sew, quilt, plan designs, organize and pin fabric pieces and bind and label the quilts.
Experienced and novice quilters are encouraged to join. Guild members will begin teaching basic quilting during their regular quilting sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the first Friday monthly in the parish hall at the church, 604 Valrico Road N. Church members and nonmembers are welcome. Materials are provided. Participation is free, but quilters are asked bring their own bag lunches.
