BRANDON - Musician Marion Gwizdala isn't just an advocate for the sight-impaired.
He is president of the East Hillsborough Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind and the National Association of Guide Dog Users - and he has been blind since age 17.
In true hands-on management style, Gwizdala has recorded a CD of Christmas songs for sale to benefit both organizations.
The National Federation of the Blind provides support, training and opportunities for the visually impaired. The National Association of Guide Dog Users assists people who use guide dogs or want to learn more about using canine companions as mobility tools.
Gwizdala's album, "An Acoustic Christmas," features seven songs recorded as single-takes with few enhancements.
"What you will hear on this recording is what it would sound like if I were playing in your living room for you," Gwizdala said.
He performs at private events and venues across the Tampa Bay area billed as "Marion and Martin," a nod to his steel-stringed instrument: an acoustic Martin guitar.
The CD costs $5 and is available at Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Drive, and Pak Mail Shipping Co. in Regency Square, 2420 Brandon Blvd. It also can be purchased by calling (813) 626-2789 or e-mailing marion@marionand martin.com.
