Performance To Celebrate Advent
Adore 2097, a Catholic worship evangelical outreach group featuring singer and songwriter Matt Maher, will visit St. Stephen Catholic Church from 7-9:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. at 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico.

Church Group Plans A Holy Night
Horizon Christian Church will present a free Christmas musical, "Once Upon a Holy Night," at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1720 S. St. Cloud Ave., Valrico. Performances will be offered by the church's drama group. Call (813) 689-1457.
Train Show Pulls In To The Fairgrounds
If you have fond memories of playing with your train sets in childhood, this show is for you. Golden Spike Enterprises will host the Tampa Model Train Show and Sale from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in the Charles M. Davis Special Events Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.
There will be more than 200 tables offering railroad artifacts, train-related parts, accessories and other items for collectors and model railroad enthusiasts. Children attending the event also can enjoy a train ride. Admission is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Parking is $5 for cars or $10 for RVs or buses. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance. Call (813) 949-7197 for information or go to www.gserr.com.

Angel Tree Helps Pets
Hillsborough County Animal Services and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay have joined forces to help homeless pets with their third annual Animal Angel Tree event at Animal Services, 440 Falkenburg Road, Tampa.
The tree will be decorated with hand-crafted ornaments made by local children and shelter volunteers. Many of the ornaments feature photos of pets from the animal shelter. Residents are invited to make donations of treats, toys, blankets, unbreakable meal bowls, pet shampoos, brushes, flea combs, kitty litter, crates and carriers.
Animal Services also is accepting monetary donations. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is closed Sundays. Call (813) 744-5660.
Tree Sales To Benefit Kids
First United Methodist Church is selling Christmas trees in the parking lot at 115 N. Knights Ave., Brandon, behind the Grand Prix Car Wash one block north of State Road 60 between Kings and Parsons avenues.
Tree sales have been a tradition for the church for more than 40 years. Proceeds will benefit the Florida United Methodist Children's Home.
The lot is open from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon-6 p.m. Sundays. Prices depend on size.
Visitors also may buy gift cards so the church can give Christmas trees to families unable to afford them this year.
