A Swashbuckling Good Ballet

The Orlando Ballet brings "Pirates of Penzance!" this weekend to the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place.

The plot for Daryl Gray's production closely shadows that of the original Gilbert and Sullivan opera.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $18.50 to $59.50 and are available by contacting the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center at (813) 229-7827 or by visiting www.tbpac.org.

The Magic Camera Of Abelardo Morell
An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts to kick off an exhibit by Abelardo Morell.

The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through March 15 at 200 N. Tampa St., Tampa. Morell's collection, on loan from New York's Bonni Benrubi Gallery, includes extraordinary photographs of ordinary things - interiors, children at play, domestic objects, upside-down scenes and more.

The museum is closed Sundays and Mondays. Admission is a $4 suggested donation to benefit the museum. Call (813) 221-2222 or go to www.fmopa .org.

Hit The Links At Charity Classic
The Brandon Rotary Club will host its 16th annual Charity Golf Classic at Buckhorn Golf and Country Club, 2721 S. Miller Road, Valrico, starting with registration at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon.

Entry fee is $125 per player and includes, lunch, golf, use of a golf cart, an awards presentation, a goody bag and a steak dinner at the Rotary's Camp Florida, at 1915 Camp Florida Road, Brandon. Proceeds will benefit the Brandon Rotary Club.

Curtain Opens For Auntie Mame
Footlights Theater Production and Dinner Theater will feature the classic Broadway musical "Mame" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Jan. 25 and 26 at Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon.

The show is about Mame Dennis, an eccentric woman whose motto is "Life is a banquet." Her life with wealthy friends is interrupted when the young son of her late brother arrives to live with her. Songs include "If He Walked into My Life," "We Need a Little Christmas," "Bosom Buddies," "Open a New Window" and more.

Before the curtain opens for each performance, guests can enjoy a social hour starting at 6:30 and dinner at 7.

Senior Fun Fest At The Fairgrounds

Senior Connections and Mature Lifestyles magazine of Tampa will host their third annual Senior Fun Fest in the Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 23 and 24.

Guests can also enjoy entertainment, free bingo, make-it-and-take-it arts and crafts, prizes, giveaways and a lunch for $5. Parking is free.

The fairgrounds are at 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. Trolleys and shuttles will provide rides to the main entrance. Call 1-888-670-0040.
