VALRICO - The Greater Brandon Community Foundation will hold its Charity Golf Classic on Feb. 7 through 11, with three golf tournaments, at the River Hills Country Club, 3943 New River Hills Parkway.
The first will be the Tournament of Champions Golf Tournament, hosted by Valrico resident Carlos Tosca, the Florida Marlins' baseball team's bench coach. Proceeds will benefit the Brandon Foundation C.J. Tosca Fund, established in honor of Tosca's 2 1/2 -year-old son, who lost his fight against cancer 20 years ago. The fund helps families of children with cancer.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. Feb. 7, followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The fee is $600 per foursome. The tournament will end with an awards banquet.
Registration for a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, 5223 N. Orient Road, Tampa. The tournament starts at 3 p.m. Cost is $250 per player.
The second golf tourney will be the Celebrity Pro Am Golf Tournament on Feb. 9 hosted by Alex Smith, a tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Registration and brunch will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a celebrity contest at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11 a.m. After the tournament, there will be an awards banquet. The third golf event will be the First Tee of Tampa Bay Brandon Invitational Golf Tournament on Feb. 11. Registration will be at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. An awards banquet will end the tournament. The cost is $600 per foursome.

Dinner Dance Helps Hunger Programs
BRANDON - The Friendship Club of Nativity Catholic Church invites the public to a fundraiser dinner dance for the Nativity Outreach Food Pantry and Food Bank from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the church's social hall, 705 E. Brandon Blvd. A $15-per-person donation covers the cost of dinner, beverages and dancing to the music of True Identity.

UFOs Are Topic For Talk Show Host
SUN CITY CENTER - Carol Roberts, writer, talk-show host and founder of Wellness Works in Brandon, will give a presentation about "The Disclosure Project," a nonprofit research initiative dedicated to revealing "the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems," according to www.disclosureproject.org, at 1 p.m. Monday in the banquet room of the Kings Point clubhouse, 1900 Clubhouse Drive.
The project Web site states, "We have over 400 government, military and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, firsthand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology and the cover-up that keeps this information secret."

The Diamonds To Perform Concert
BRANDON - The Diamonds, known for such classics as "Little Darlin'," "The Stroll," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" and "Silhouettes," will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 3315 Bryan Road.
Although none of the original members of the 1950s popular group remains, this quartet strives to retain the original Diamonds' sound.

Art Show Offers Prizes And Merchandise
TAMPA - The Bay Area Art Show, sponsored by Tampa Realistic Artists, will be Feb. 5 through March 14 at Old Hyde Park Gallery, 705 Swann Ave.
Artists may drop off their works at the gallery from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday through Feb. 3.
The entry fee for Tampa Realistic Artists members is $15 for one painting, $25 for two. The fee for nonmembers is $20 for one painting, $35 for two. More than $1,500 in prizes and merchandise will be awarded.

Local Artist Offers Color Mixing Workshop
BRANDON - Meletha Everett of Brandon will present a color mixing workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association, 619 Vonderburg Drive. The fee is $50 and may be paid at the Center Place office.
A booklet will be available for purchase. The price has not been determined.
