The Grace Christian cheerleaders entered the 19th annual Florida Christian College National Cheerleading Championships this month with high hopes, competing against teams from 20 states. Last year, Grace Christian walked away with a junior and senior stunt national title, as well as small junior high and small varsity national titles.
The school's teams were determined to defend all titles, and they did with the junior high stunt team placing first out of three groups and the varsity stunt team placing first out of 18 groups.
The junior high team also was awarded best choreography, showmanship, jumps and tumbling and stunts in its division. The varsity team was awarded best choreography, jumps and tumbling and stunts in its division.
The junior high squad also won the Junior Grand Champion title, beating 19 other squads. The varsity squad won the national title, beating out 15 other teams.
Look for the Grace Christian cheerleaders when they perform at the Florida State Fair on Feb. 9.
