PALM RIVER Motorists are being rerouted to and from Maydell Drive and 70th Street near Causeway Boulevard while crews work on drainage projects as part of the widening of Causeway Boulevard between U.S. 41 and U.S. 301.
A leg of 70th Street south of Causeway will be closed through Wednesday Further west, a leg of Maydell north of Causeway will be closed through May 30.
Kris Carson, a spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Transportation, said 70th Street is closed so crews can install a pipe under the road that will carry stormwater runoff from Causeway to Delaney Creek. Motorists are being detoured to 75th Street and South 32nd Avenue.
Carson said Maydell was closed to allow crews to work on a retention pond. Traffic is being detoured to 24th Avenue and 66th Street.
