Young Performers To Present 'Parade'

Teen students at Music Showcase will perform the Broadway classic musical "Parade" at 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, with matinees at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at the Barn Theatre at Winthrop, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave, Riverview.

The play is a true story about the 1913 trial of a Brooklyn-born Jewish factory manager, Leo Frank, who was accused of murdering a young girl in Georgia. Musical numbers include "Old Red Hills of Home," "The Picture Show," "Lullaby," "Rumblin' and a Rollin'," and "Pretty Music."

Rock Classics Come To Amphitheatre

Live Nation will present the Steve Miller Band with Joe Cocker at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ford Amphitheatre, 4802 U. S. 301 N., Tampa.

Honor Military At Memorial Day Service

Serenity Meadows Memorial Park will host its annual Memorial Day event at 10 a.m. Monday at 6919 Providence Road, Riverview.

A representative from each military service branch from U.S. Central Command in Tampa will honor men and women who have died while serving their country.

The event also will feature speakers, a wreath ceremony, a rifle salute and a dove release. The free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Village Players Present 'Gypsy'

The Village Players, featuring actors Mollie Anderson, Domin Pazo, Gina Giordanno, Maren Julian and Jeremy Stauffer, will perform the Broadway classic "Gypsy" about Gypsy Rose Lee, the archetypical stage mother who pushes her daughters into Vaudeville.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and May 30 and 31 at The James McCabe Theatre, 506 Fifth St., Valrico.

Annual Members' Art Show

The Brandon League of Fine Arts is hosting its annual members' art show at Center Place's Mook Gallery, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon.

The artwork by professionals, semi-professionals and amateur league members with three to 75 years of experience represents a variety of disciplines, including watercolors, pastels, acrylics, oils and collages.

The exhibit is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday through May 30. Admission is free. Call (813) 829-9569.
