BRANDON - BRANDON - Residents will now find it easier and guzzle less gas to get some county government services.
Circuit Court Clerk Pat Frank opened her branch office this week in the new government service center at 311 Pauls Drive, east of the U.S. Post Office.
Frank moved the office from rented space in the Brandon Crossings office center off Adamo Drive. The Pauls Drive facility, south of Oakfield Drive, is twice as large.
"It will be a more pleasant environment for employees as well as customers," Frank said. "Parking will be easier, everything about it."
Frank said the office will offer most services available at the main circuit clerk office in Tampa, except those involving criminal cases.
She said people can file for marriage licenses and have ceremonies performed in English or Spanish, file for divorce, apply for passports and have their passport pictures taken.
The office also can manage paperwork fortraffic citations, reinstate driver's licenses and accept payment for violation of water, animal control and boating violations.
Frank said residents can also record ills, deeds, mortgages and other legal documents, and file civil lawsuits and related papers.
"We had a presence in Brandon, but this will so much better," Frank said.
Property Appraiser Rob Turner said his satellite office at the new center should open by the end of June.
