SEFFNER - SEFFNER - State work crews will close two westbound lanes of Interstate 4 between McIntosh Road and County Road 579 starting Sunday for repaving.
John McShaffrey, a spokesman for the Florida Department of Transportation, said crews will repave all three lanes, but only two will be closed at a time to leave one lane open. Work is expected to end Thursday.
Repaving will be under way from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to avoid distrupting daytime traffic on the heavily used commuter and commercial thoroughfare.
McShaffrey said that stretch of I-4 hasn't been repaved since it was widened to three lanes in both directions in 1999.
"It's just due for a repaving," he said.
McShaffrey said crews have already repaved two eastbound lanes along that stretch and are scheduled to finish the third the week of June 9.
