BRANDON - Parent, church and school volunteers are busy rolling out the rides and readying the Big Top for the 39th annual Novemberfest, the key fundraiser for Nativity Catholic School and religious education programs at Nativity Catholic Church. Attendance at the carnival typically tops 100,000.
WHAT: The five-day festival features carnival and kiddie rides, midway games, live entertainment and a smorgasbord of traditional fair food and local favorites.
WHEN: Nov. 12-16, times vary: 4-11 p.m. Nov. 12 and 13; 4 p.m.- midnight Nov. 14; noon-midnight Nov. 15; noon-6 p.m. Nov. 16.
WHERE: Nativity Catholic School, 705 E. Brandon Blvd, south of Brandon Boulevard at Bryan Road.
COST: Free admission and parking; purchase ride tickets individually or buy all-day armbands for $16 through Monday or $22 after opening day.
NEW THIS YEAR: A 5K Run/1-Mile Walk will be held Nov. 15 through neighborhoods near the school. Check-in is at 7 a.m.; the race starts at 8 a.m. Registration is $20.
