Newcomers' Fest To Wow Crowds
Newcomers to Brandon will join longtime residents to show off their talents - culinary and creative - when the Brandon Newcomers Club holds its annual Craft & Bake sale, Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Brandon Community Center, 502 Sadie St., Brandon.
Participants will display treats to eat, quilts, oil paintings and other homemade crafts. Anyone can bid on the auction items. Call Mary Ann Hartman at (813) 681-7558.
Guard Your Yard With Water Tips
The Hillsborough County Extension Office, 5339 County Road 579, Seffner, joins Hillsborough County Water Resource Services to sponsor a free workshop on the efficient use of water.
The workshop will include information about creating healthier landscapes, improving lawns, saving time and money, and learning micro-irrigation techniques.
A free starter micro-irrigation kit will be available to county residents. Seating is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Taste Wine, Food At Corks & Forks
Sample wines from Australia and New Zealand and dishes from area restaurants when Brandon area YMCAs present the 2008 Corks & Forks fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, Valrico.
The poolside event will feature a live and silent auction and entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA's Building Strong Kids Campaign in the Brandon area. The initiative enables children and families to participate in YMCA programs regardless of financial circumstances.

Beauty And Bling Charity Showcase
Shop for one-of-a-kind items for the kids' closet, furniture and other goodies when Javan Exclusives and interior decorator Alisa Henry kick off the 2008 Beauty and Bling Designing Green Showcase charity shopping event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Winthrop Town Center's Barn Theater, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview.
Money raised will benefit A Kid's Place, a five-home, 60-bed emergency shelter in Valrico for children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect, as well as other charities.
The event will feature children's clothing, custom-upholstered furniture, antiques, accessories, art, live entertainment and more. Cost is $5 or any new housewares item to help stock the shelter. Call (813) 495-3549 for information and tickets.
Live On Stage: Family Classics
The Brandon Youth Theater, a local arts education organization, will feature "Charlotte's Web" and "Disney's Aladdin Junior" with actors ages 6 to 12 at the New Life Church, 2802 E. State Road 60, Valrico.
The curtain will rise for "Charlotte's Web" at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday; ages 12 and older will perform "Aladdin Junior" at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Horse Show Features Arabians
The Arabian Horse Association of Florida will host its annual Thanksgiving horse show featuring Arabian, half-Arabian and national show horses at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 to 29 at the Florida State Fairgrounds' Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.
