Arabian Horses To Strut At Show

The Arabian Horse Association of Florida will host its annual Thanksgiving horse show featuring Arabian, half-Arabian and national show horses from across the country beginning at 8 a.m. today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Florida State Fairgrounds' Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. Entry fees and stall rental charges will apply for participants. Admission and parking for spectators is free. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the Orient Road entrance. Dine And Shop At Fairgrounds

The Buckler's Craft Fair will host a two-day craft show at the Sweetbay Entertainment Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. The event will feature a selection of holiday items, folk art, home accessories, jewelry, handcrafted furniture, dolls, homemade fudge and gourmet delights offered by artisans from across the country. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5. Entry is free for ages 12 and younger. Parking is $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and buses. Drive For Troops Wraps Up

The GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club is wrapping up its annual Operation Holiday Support to benefit U.S. military troops.

Items to be collected through Sunday include black socks, gel insole heels, shaving gel, wrapped hard candy, pre-package snacks, Advil and Tylenol, mouthwash, over the counter cold and flu tablets, toothpaste, Clorox wipes, inflatable pillows, travel games, cotton swabs, non-reflective sunglasses, lip balm, deodorant, Febreeze, beef jerky, AA batteries, throat lozenges, eye drops, power bars, Pop-Tarts, dryer sheets, peanuts, dried fruit, DVD movies and other non-perishable items.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

•9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Friday - South Shore Group, 16637 FishHawk Blvd., Suite 103, Lithia. Call (813) 662-2355.

•10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Thursday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday - The Pottery Patch, 2551 State Road 60 E., Valrico. Call (813) 643-0014.

Santa's Workshop To Help Patients

The Faces of Courage Foundation, a locally based, nonprofit organization that provides free outings, evening events and overnight camps for women, children and families touched by cancer, will host a Santa's Workshop Weekend. The event, sponsored by Tampa Carrollwood Rotary Club, will begin at 4 p.m. Dec. 5, 6 and 7 at the Rotary's Camp Florida, 1915 Camp Florida Road, Brandon. Children will have the opportunity to play games, create holiday gifts, fish, dance and enjoy snacks. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Call (813) 877-CAMP (2267).

Tree Sales To Benefit Kids

First United Methodist Church will sell Christmas trees in the parking lot at 115 N. Knights Ave., Brandon, behind the Grand Prix Car Wash one block north of State Road 60 between Kings and Parsons avenues. Tree sales have been a tradition for the church for more than 40 years. Proceeds will benefit the Florida United Methodist Children's Home. The lot will be open from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturdays and noon-6 p.m. Sundays. Prices depend on size. Visitors also may buy gift cards so the church can give Christmas trees to families unable to afford them this year.
