Native Floridians Show Artistic Mettle
Watercolors, ceramic sculptures, acrylics, oils, wood and stained glass will be among the media used by 17 native Floridians who will exhibit their work from 5-9 p.m. at the Creative Native Gallery at 5307 N. Falkenburg Road, Tampa, just west of Brandon.
Artwork will also be available for purchase. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served at the free event. Call (813) 841-3038.

Huge Home Show Comes To Fairgrounds
Thinking about building, remodeling, decorating, landscaping or planning a home makeover? Florida's Largest Fall Home Show will have more than 950 exhibits with local, national and international companies showcasing futuristic technology and new products and services Friday-Sunday at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall.
Visitors can talk to experts one-on-one at the one-stop marketplace showcasing the latest products and services for remodeling, decorating, landscaping and adding home furnishings.
Show hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Ticket prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors age 55 and older; free for children younger than 12 who attend with an adult. Parking is $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and bus. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the U.S. 301 entrance.

Rock, Rib And Ride To Benefit Needy
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will sponsor the first Brandon Foundation Rock, Rib & Ride Festival from 4-11 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday at the Florida State Fairgrounds Cracker Country historical museum.
There will be a rib tasting competition, charity poker run, midway rides for the children, entertainment, music, games, hands-on activities, food vendors and more.
Proceeds will benefit the Greater Brandon Community Foundation and area families in need. Admission is $8 for ages 12 and older, $5 for ages 3 to 11 and free for ages 2 and younger. Parking is $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and buses.

Scare Up Some Fun At Haunted House
Enjoy some good, clean, frightening fun when the Fisher family hosts its annual haunted house walk-through from 7-11 p.m. Halloween night, Oct. 31.
This year's theme will be "Asylum," featuring strobe lights, loud, scary sounds and ghouls. Donations will be accepted to benefit a local child in need of medical care. The Fishers' home is at 4404 Castlebar Way, Valrico.

Support For Troops Gets Under Way
The GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club has launched its annual Operation Holiday Support to benefit U.S. military troops.
Items to be collected through Nov. 30 include black socks, gel insole heels, shaving gel, wrapped hard candy, pre-packaged snacks, Advil and Tylenol, mouthwash, over the counter cold and flu tablets, toothpaste, Clorox wipes, inflatable pillows, travel games, cotton swabs, non-reflective sunglasses, lip balm, deodorant, Febreeze, beef jerky, AA batteries, throat lozenges, eye drops, PowerBars, Pop-Tarts, dryer sheets, peanuts, dried fruit, DVD movies and other non-perishable items.
