VALRICO - Brandon's own Mr. Bones will bring his magic show "From Beyond Halloween" to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Brandon Aerie 3566, 1810 Front St., N., Valrico, at 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The public is invited to attend.
"This show will be spooky, kind of," said the magician, who peppers his shows with pun-filled humor.
One of his illusions will be a version of the spirit cabinet, in which an assistant's hands and neck are tied with cloth that is then nailed to a board behind her back. When curtains are drawn to hide her from view, the magician calls out commands. What happens next defies logic.
"Everything you see me do ... is tricks and theater," Bones, whose real name is Patrick Brown, said at a recent performance. "The only place you'll ever find real magic is in your heart - so be kind to everyone you meet."
With Brown will be his mentor, Sterling Steal, a master magician; the Moxie Twins, whom Brown called "knife-throwing, former super model maniacs;" and Greg Suarez, who on Friday night will bring along his mind-reading skunk.
Kids can enter a costume contest with prizes.
Tickets are $5 per person. Call the box office at (813) 685-4173. More information is available at www.mrbones.zigmont.com.
