RIVERVIEW - The Riverview Little Theatre Company will present several performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella," beginning Sept. 18.
The show stars Brittany Hamilton as Cinderella, Armando Valdes and Caleb Bone as the prince, Ellen Kleinschmidt as the fairy god mother, Robert Heilmann as the king and Kate Ramsey as the queen.
The cast will feature local artists of various ages, including the principal of Riverview High, Robert Heilmann, as well as Reddick Elementary's music specialist Ellen Kleinschmidt and numerous elementary, middle, high school and college students.
The creative team for "Cinderella" includes artistic director Daron Hawkins, who is choreographing the show and Bev Sutherland, who serves as vocal director.
The classic tale comes to life with the music of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Originally a television special starring Julie Andrews in 1957, this version has been adapted over the past 50 years, including a 1965 version with Leslie Ann Warren and a 1997 version with Whitney Houston and pop singer, Brandi.
Tickets are $6 for children 12 and younger, $8 for students and seniors 55 and older and $10 for adult general admission.
Show times are: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18, ; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20; 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25; and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27.
All performances take place at the Riverview High auditorium, 11311 Boyette Road.
