State Fair Is Here!
Elvis impersonators, sequin-clad showgirls and choreographed musical performers will bring a taste of Las Vegas to this year's Florida State Fair. Events will include a Las Vegas-style tribute to half-time shows and the national Elvis impersonator competition finals, in addition to traditional food, rides and other attractions for the family. And check out the chocolate-covered bacon!
The fair will open at 9 a.m. each day through Monday. Closing times vary depending on the day, weather conditions and other factors.
Visitors can enjoy an abundance of events, including professional wrestling demonstrations, a roller derby championship and the Country Gold Tour 2009, featuring many popular country singers.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 11 and free for ages 5 and younger. Parking is free.

Auditions Open For 'Parallel Lives'
The James McCabe Theater will hold auditions for an upcoming production of "Parallel Lives," written by Kathy Najimy, actress and director, and Mo Gaffney, actress and producer. The story is about a man and a woman struggling through the common rituals of modern life. Two adult character actresses are needed.
Auditions will be Saturday and Sunday at the theater, 506 Fifth St., Valrico. Callbacks will be at 8 p.m. Monday.

Relay For Life At Dallas Bull
Florida Fire Fastpitch Softball, a nonprofit organization that promotes and teaches quality softball play, good sportsmanship and teamwork for girls ages 18 and younger, will host the Relay For Life 2009 benefit event from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Dallas Bull, 3322 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.
The event will feature bull-riding and dance contests, prizes and more.
Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

Outdoor Expo, Boat Show
The 18th Annual Tampa Tribune Outdoors Expo and Boat Show will be held in Expo Hall and Sweetbay Entertainment Hall from 1 to 8 p.m. Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1. The three-day event will feature fishing and hunting gear, outdoor products, a children's fishing derby and more. Parking is $5 for cars, $10 for RVs and buses. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the U.S. 301 North entrance. Call (813) 259-8224 for information and ticket prices.
Classic Car Show To Benefit ECHO
The Emergency Care Help Organization and Lifestyle Family Fitness will join forces for their first Charity Car Show to Benefit ECHO, which helps the homeless and families in need throughout the Brandon area.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Lifestyle parking lot, 623 Oakfield Drive, Brandon.
The show will include old and not-so-old model automobiles. All sponsors will be recognized at the show. Registration fee is $15.
