BIZ DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR: YP Brandon, a networking group for young professionals, will hold a professional development seminar open to the public 5:30 -7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, 330 Pauls Drive. Guest speaker Tony Umholtz, a former NFL pro who began his football career as a kicker and punter for the University of South Florida, will outline how principles he learned in the athletic arena apply to the business world. A SWEET CONTEST: Maria Malec and Stacey Recktenwald, owners of Bella Garden, a boutique gift shop in the Publix shopping center at 5664 FishHawk Crossing Blvd., Lithia, are holding a "Language of Love" contest in honor of Valentine's Day. Customers who submit their written expressions of love in 25 words or less are eligible to win a pair of men's or women's Reef sandals. ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR: The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7 at the Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, Valrico. Health-related businesses will exhibit their products and services and offer health screenings at the event, which drew 1,500 visitors in 2008. Brandon Regional Hospital and The Tampa Tribune are among the sponsors. BIZ EXPO, TASTE OF BRANDON: The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Brandon Business Expo and Taste of Brandon from 3:30 to 8 p.m. May 21 in the Special Events Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301, Tampa. More than 200 businesses are expected to participate in the tradeshow-style event and annual taste-off competition. Exhibitor booth spaces cost $300 or $200 for chamber members. NEW STROLLER STRIDES CLASSES: Natalie Johnson, an exercise physiologist and former master trainer for Body By Jake Enterprises and Fit TV, has purchased Stroller Strides Tampa, which offers exercise classes for mothers with young children in Lithia, Brandon and Tampa. A new schedule for 2009 features classes on weekday evenings and Saturdays and classes geared towards working moms and single mothers.
