At least nine people have been arrested on drug and racketeering charges since late Monday afternoon by Hillsborough County deputies.
Bail was set at $1 million each for Manuel Ramos, 44, of Ruskin; Jerry Crosby, 37, of Valrico; and Jose Martinez, 38, of Ruskin. They were charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.
Border patrol officials should be alerted to Ramos, according to the Orient Road Jail Web site.
Bail was set at $500,000 each for Jose Trevino, 42, of Ruskin; Eddie Moreno, 42, of Ruskin; Dennis Day, 59, of Gibsonton; Felix Martinez, 41, of Riverview; and Jeffory Cauley, 28, of Wimauma. The five were charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.
Jerome Johnson, 42, of Tampa, also has been arrested by deputies. He was charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, delivery of marijuana, conspiracy to delivery marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $502,500.
All nine men remain in Orient Road Jail.
The men were arrested on warrants, and further details were not immediately available.
