BRANDON - A local businessman is hosting a "tea party" Saturday to urge like-minded people to focus on getting America back to its Judeo-Christian roots.
Mike Nelis, founder of TeaPartyNextStep.com will host the party at Clayton Park following the Brandon Fourth of July Parade, which will end about 12:30 p.m. The park is located on Parsons Avenue at Vonderberg Road. It is the site of South Brandon Little League.
Terry Kemple, president of the Community Issues Council, said hundreds of people are expected to come and hear State Rep. Rachel Burgin, State Sen. Ronda Storms, Polk County Commissioner Randy Wilkinson, U.S. Congressional Dist. 12 candidate Thomas Snider, Kemple and Nelis address the "urgent need to call America back to the traditional Judeo-Christian values she was founded on."
Kemple said people will leave with "marching orders on actions they can take to make a difference."
