BRANDON - Gov. Charlie Crist has reappointed three members of the Alafia River Basin Board.
Two of them live in Brandon.
Crist reappointed Cheryl Johnson, a real estate associate with Tampa Electric Co. Her term ends March 1, 2012. He also reappointed Jim Selvey, a broker and owner of Exit Realty Consultants, whose term expires March 1, 2011.
Additionally, the governor reappointed Steve Bissonnette of Lakeland, whose term ends March 1, 2010.
The Alafia River Basin Board is one of seven regional basin boards that provide guidance for local programs that are specific to the basins they protect. A portion of the taxes paid to the Southwest Florida Water Management District is allocated to the basin boards.
Basin board members, unpaid volunteers, serve three-year staggered terms. Each board includes a minimum of one person from each county within the basin and there must be at least three members on each board.
