TAMPA - Families of four, with an income of $28,665 or less are eligible for free student lunches in Hillsborough County public schools.

A family of four with an income of $40,793 may be eligible for reduced priced lunches at schools.

The School District of Hillsborough County announced its meal guidelines July 14.

Application forms are being sent by mail to all parents or guardians and additional copies are available in the principal's office at each school. A new family application must be completed each year.

Parents can view a sample free and reduced meal application in 26 different languages at www.fns .usda.gov/cnd/frp/frp .process.htm.

Applications may be submitted at any time during the year. If a child moves from one school to another in the same year, a new application does not have to be filed.

The majority of applications are approved on the income and family size.

To complete the form, applicants much provide total gross monthly household income by amount, frequency and type; names of household members; signature of an adult household member certifying the information; and Social Security number of the adult signing the application.
