Wrestling Streak Featured In Film

Are you a fan of the Brandon High wrestling team? A feature documentary on the team's "Streak" will be featured at 6:45 p.m. Friday at the Channelside movie theater No. 6, 615 Channelside Drive, Tampa.

The showing will be one of the features of the Gasparilla International Film Festival through Saturday. Brandon High wrestling coach Russ Cozart will be honored.

Softball Tourney Benefits Schools

Family and friends of a late local businessman will host the seventh annual Bob Reinhold Memorial Softball Tournament at 8 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Handley Field, 3104 Kings Ave., north of Bloomingdale Avenue, in Brandon.

Proceeds will benefit the athletic booster clubs at Armwood, Brandon and Bloomingdale high schools, the Brandon Cowboys Youth Football League and the North Brandon Little League.

Volunteer umpires are needed. Openings for teams and sponsors are available.

Ballerina Ballet Seeks Princesses

If you have a little princess in your home, the Brandon Ballet invites girls ages 4 to 7 to spend a morning with the Brandon Ballet Company.

Participants may wear their own princess costumes or try on a real ballerina costume, learn dance steps, create crafts, decorate cupcakes and have their faces painted.

There also will be souvenir photos and goodie bags. The event will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brandon Ballet, 161 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon.

Country Singer At Dallas Bull

Recording artist and songwriter Pat Green will perform some of his country hits at 7 p.m. March 13 at the Dallas Bull, 3322 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.

Green's hits include "Wave on Wave," "Feels Just Like It Should" and his most recent single, "Let Me."

Tickets are $9.95 in advance through Ticketmaster or at www.dallasbull.com, or $15 at the door.

Volunteer For Animal Services

Want to do your part for homeless pets? Hillsborough County Animal Services will hold orientations for residents who wish to join the Volunteer Partnership Program for animals at the county shelter.

Duties will include escorting people interested in adopting pets to the kennel area, photographing animals, assisting veterinarians, helping with special events and walking and socializing animals.

Orientations will be at 5:30 p.m. March 11; 10 a.m. March 21; 10 a.m. April 11; and 5:30 p.m. April 29.

Volunteers must be 16 years old, and commit to a minimum of 20 hours per month, including weekends.

Center Place Hosts Chalk Walk

Center Place Fine Art and Civic Association will host its third annual "Love of the Arts" chalk walk from 1 to 3 p.m. March 14 Center Place, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon.

Each artist will be given chalk, a sidewalk section to create his or her own masterpiece and coupons from area restaurants and businesses.

Children ages 3 and older can enjoy balloon tying, caricatures, face painting, music, demonstrations, performances, displays and more.
