Young Artists Auction Works
Brandon-area students attending Blake High School will host their 11th annual Art Auction at Gallery 501 and the Don Thompson Theatre on the school grounds at 1701 N. Boulevard, Tampa. The auction will enable gifted students and artists the opportunity to gain exposure in the community.
The silent auction will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the live auction from 7:45 to 10 p.m. Student artworks will include ceramics, pottery, drawings, jewelry, paintings, photography, printmaking and sculptures.
Cost is $3 at the door. The event is open to the public. Call the school at (813) 272-3422.
Country Music, Strings Attached
The Farm in Lithia will host an Inspirational Country Music Party at 7 p.m. featuring gospel music in a relaxed, country setting.
Bring your guitar, banjo, fiddle or other stringed instruments and join the fun. Visiting Nashville recording artists have been known to drop in.
The Farm is at 7818 Lithia-Pinecrest Road, Lithia. Admission is free. Call (813) 967-3046.
All Weekend
Garcia, Lennon Works On Display
Beatles fans and Deadheads can see for the first time in Tampa rare artworks created by John Lennon and Jerry Garcia. The exhibit is titled "Duet." Garcia and Lennon attended art school before becoming full-time musicians.
The fundraising event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Channelside Bay Plaza, 615 Channelside Drive, Tampa.
The artwork will be in the form of serigraphs, lithographs, copper etchings, aqua tints and more.
Proceeds from donations will benefit the Children's Cancer Center of Tampa, a nonprofit organization that provides educational, emotional and financial support to children with cancer.
Proceeds from the sale of artwork will help defray the cost of the exhibit tour.

Tow Show At Fairgrounds
Unified Trade Shows will present the Florida Independent Tow Show, a three-day family event for the towing and recovery business, at Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.
Vendors will conduct hands-on demonstrations, industry leaders will hold towing-safety seminars and the latest model chassis from truck manufacturers will be on display. There also will be activities, games, prizes for children and more.
Event hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Parking is $5 for cars and $10 for RVs and buses.
Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds at the U.S. 301 North entrance.

Walk, Run, Ride At ECHO Event
Today is the deadline to register for Eco Quest, an adventure race that benefits the Emergency Care Help Organization, a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing and household items to Brandon-area residents in need.
The challenge includes mountain biking, trail running and canoeing.
The schedule and costs are as follows:
•10 a.m.: 2-mile nature fitness walk/run, $30
•10 a.m.: 2-mile run/bike ride, $30
•9:30 a.m.: 13-mile run/bike ride and canoe, $65
•9 a.m.: 17-mile run/bike and canoe, $65
The event will be at Alafia River State Park, 14326 S. County Road 39, Lithia. Registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Call (813) 685-0935 for information and registration, or register online at www.echofl.org.
Coin, Stamp Show At Brandon Elks
Numismatists and philatelists, this show's for you. The Brandon Coin Club will present a coin and stamp show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Collectors and more than 35 dealers may buy, sell and trade coins and stamps at the Brandon Elks Lodge, 800 Centennial Lodge Drive, Brandon.
Children ages 10 and younger will receive a free bag of coins, and adults can win door prizes. Appraisers will be on hand to conduct free appraisals on coin and stamp collections. Call (813) 361-0740.
