RIVERVIEW - Seniors can learn how to stay safe against fraud, identity theft and other crimes during a free senior seminar set for Nov. 19 at the Riverview Civic Center.

The seminar will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch will be provided by local businesses.

Reservations are required by Tuesday. Call (813) 672-7822.

There will be speakers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Economic Crimes Unit, S.A.L.T. (Senior and Law Enforcement Together), the state Attorney General's Office and the Elder Law Public Policy Task Force.

Community Service Officer Barbara Jones said her office has had several crimes in recent months targeting seniors. The hope is that this seminar will provide information to prevent crime.

The civic center is at 11020 Park Drive, Riverview.

This event is co-sponsored by P.R.I.D.E., People for Riverview, Informed, Dedicated, Educated.
