BRANDON - The search is on for talented teen musicians interested in competing in the 12th annual Teenage Battle of the Bands, scheduled for Nov. 6 and 7.

The event, sponsored by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, will be held at the Hillsborough County Fair from 6 to 11 p.m.

The two winning bands receive free studio time to record their music.

Bands can apply now for the competition and only a limited number will be accepted. The entry fee is $50, and members must be 13 to 20 years old. Bands are judged on showmanship, guitars, drums, vocals, originality and preparation.

The fair is located at 4810 E. State Road 60 in Dover, five miles east of Brandon at the intersection of Sidney-Washer Road and State Road 60.
