I disagree to some extent with your recent op-ed piece on Congressman Mahoney. Putting his sexual peccadilloes aside, Mr. Mahoney, who purports himself to be a blue dog conservative Democrat, voted in lock step with the party line of Nancy Pelosi and the rest of her far left cadre of liberal socialists. If you had researched Mr. Mahoney's voting record, you have found that he supported the billions in bailout legislation as well as just about every pork barrel project in sight. His voting record in no way could be considered conservative. ...more

Let's get something straight. The U.S. House of Representatives has been in Democratic hands for two years. The Democrats chair all committees; rule the roost. The latest Rasmussen tracking poll finds that 9 percent of the public thinks Congress is doing a good job. Fifty-two percent think Congress is doing a poor job. The leader of the House is Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco, the most politically strange city in America. Our congressman Tim Mahoney is part of that majority. That majority has failed to face the energy crisis, failed to act, improve health care, failed to act on Iraq and failed to fix Social Security. Their leadership is standing still. ...more

A day after media reports surfaced that Democratic Congressman Tim Mahoney had carried on an affair with a former aide and paid to keep her quiet, he issued a press release Tuesday saying he takes "full responsibility for my actions and the pain I have caused my wife Terry and my daughter Bailey," but denied misusing campaign funds or paying her any money. ...more
